I have a mature-sounding, rich, low-pitched voice (around the low 80hz range). My normal speaking tone could be best used for grounded, authoritative roles and to convey confidence, seriousness, and intensity. I believe my best roles are dramatic characters, narratives, and commercials that require a gentile but confident delivery. I've got experience in the medical field and training programs and am very comfortable with this type of content.
My character work is rooted in these qualities as well, and I love infusing levity and humor in my work. I excel at roles like the bumbling sidekick, odd neighbor, authority figures, and rugged adventurists. I can also inflict lisps, accents, nasal qualities, and some pitching in a compelling way to create a broad range of uses.
In third grade, I started making voices while reading "The Weekly Reader" to make my friends laugh. I didn't know it at the time, but that was the start of my journey to voice acting.
I love doing commercials and narrative work. My passion is in character acting. When I read character descriptions, their lives jump off the page and I get a full understanding about their perspective on their world, their emotions, and their motivations. I bring heart, levity, and a sense of curiosity to each role.
What Sets Me Apart:
- I approach every role with a desire to understand my character's point of vew and appreciate the wold they inhabit
- I'm a drummer by training; the rhythm of conversation, drama, and comedy come naturally to me
- I'm trained in improv and enjoy opportunities to adapt to changes as the role is developed in real time
- My own journey through mental health, training in psychosocial identity development, and a broad set of life experiences help me to appreciate the needs of the client
In my character reel, produced by the Such A Voice team and coached by noted voice actor, Michael Yurchak, you'll meet a small sample of the characters I've developed over the years, including Victor the Vegetarian Vampire, a gruff military commander, a wily squirrel, a jaded Bostonian teen, an angry old prospector, a lazy bear looking for the perfect mobile provider, a wise neighborhood sage whose advice rarely makes sense and always makes you think, and Sheldon, the skeptical bookworm.
I record in my home studio on a Rode NT1 Signature Series and Scarlet Solo Gen 4. My equipment also includes a MacBook Pro M5 and I edit my own files with various software including Audacity, Final Cut, Premiere, GarageBand, and others.
Character demo currently in post-production.
